Up until 1962, no one had really ever heard of the Beatles; and now these 4 lads from Liverpool, England have become a part of every "baby boomer's" cultural identity. I know they are a part of mine.

Back in 1964 I was in the 5th. grade and one day during recess all the kids were talking about these... bugs (apparently)... and how they had been on the Ed Sullivan show. Darn, I had missed it, but they were going to be on again next week. So I watched... and Mr. Sullivan came out and made his usual promise of a "really big sheeeeew" and then introduced these... "Beatles"... and the kids in the audience were screaming and just going wild. So I watched... and these 4 guys with long funny looking haircuts started playing their music. So I watched... and I was mesmerized. WOW!!! No wonder everyone's going wild over these... "Beatles". They were... well, they were just... well, whatever they were... they were GREAT!!! So, probably just like every other kid at the time, I got caught up in "BEATLEMANIA" (as the media would describe this phenomenon). Yep, I'm proud to say that I was...

and I'm still, a... BEATLEMANIAC!!!

Anyways, this tribute is my small way of saying thanks to John, Paul, George, and Ringo for the great music... but not just the great music, but also for the PEACE, LOVE AND GOOD TIMES they provided
in my life... I've loved them all!
